About my school visits
"From April's captivating personal history to the MANY fascinating ways she has dived into research for her books...the students were hooked! After her visit, I needed to purchase more copies of her books for the school to keep up with demand! Great experience!"
—Jenny Stark, Media Specialist, North Gwinnett Middle School, Georgia
"Thank you so much for spending time with my students during our Zoom visits. My kids aren't always engaged in, or excited about reading, but reading The Night She Disappeared kept them on the edge of their seats! For several it was the first book in a long time they read cover to cover. Students were so excited to talk to you and ask their questions. It was a memorable day for all of us. Thank your your time, candor, patience, and for sharing your gift of writing. We will remember this visit always."
—Sarah Lauer, Intermediary English, Stillwater Area High School, Stillwater, MN
“April, Recently you spent an afternoon with students from Frank L Smart Intermediate School in Davenport, IA. Your time with us was not only entertaining and informative, but you were also impactful. Your influence has led to new dreams of being a writer and even one boy who now wants to design book covers. You were engaging and respectful and an excellent storyteller (go figure). Your time with us is greatly appreciated, and we wish you all of the best in your career.”
—Principal James A. Caparula
"As a librarian, I love April Henry’s books-they basically sell themselves off the shelf. They have the perfect balance of mystery and terror, that many middle school students crave. Having April Henry visit the Port Angeles Main Library was a high point in a year filled with fabulous, fun programs at the library. In her visit Henry regaled over 300 eighth graders with stories of her criminal family ties, time at the Writers’ Police Academy, and how she became a writer. It was clear from the gaggle of students who gathered around her afterwards that she hit a chord with some of her audience with her presentation. April was easy to work with, down-to-earth, and well-organized-I would suggest her to other public libraries looking for a speaker without hesitation!"
