Want a signed, personalized copy of one of my books? Contact my neighborhood book store, Annie Bloom's Books at 503-246-0053, and tell them what you want - signature only or a personalized greeting to a particular person. They will contact me and I will come in to sign them.
How to contact me
Many teachers want their students to learn how to write a "real letter." While this is a wonderful thing, I do not give out my home address.
I also don't have a PO box. Even if I got one, when there is not a pandemic, I'm on the road for weeks at a time - and thus not at home to read or respond to your letters.
Also, it's not a good idea to send letters c/o my publisher. These are usually not forwarded for months, sometimes years. (Yes, you read that right.)
I've also been forced to do the math as the amount of fan mail I get has increased. Replying by post requires writing the letter, printing it out, addressing an envelope, and finding a stamp. Plus there's the cost of the toner, stamp, paper, and envelope. (Not to mention the fact that my handwriting is so bad that a recent birthday card I sent to my agent in June did not arrive until February of the following year.)
For all those reasons, I'm email-only these days. On the plus side, email is fairly quick.
If you want to send me a note and you expect a reply, email me (address listed below) or use the form below, and I will write back, I promise. Oh, and if your teacher asks you to write a "real letter," just format it like one, email it, and I promise I will do the same in my reply.
